6. Washington Redskins – The Redskins have a brand new look in 2014: rookie Head Coach, the additions of Desean Jackson and Jason Hatcher, and with RG3 recovered from his knee injuries [hopefully]. If the team can play the kind of defense that won them a division title in 2012, the Redskins may be the best challengers to the Eagles for the NFC East title – especially since the other teams in the division are all in the bottom half of scoring defenses.
5. St. Louis Rams – After 7 straight losing seasons, the Rams find themselves with arguably their best roster since their last playoff appearance in 2004. The defense has superstars on the defensive line with Robert Quinn and Chris Long. The only question mark is QB Sam Bradford, who has all of the weapons but perhaps not the health to make it through the season against the overwhelming NFC West. However, if there is one team with the strength to make it through the gauntlet of 7 teams with winning records in the middle of the season, it may be this Rams team.
