5. Jerome Bettis, RB
Considered one of the greatest power running backs of all-time, Bettis – aptly referred to by his nickname “The Bus” retired in the top ten of all major rushing categories after winning Superbowl XL with the Steelers. Bettis had eight seasons with over 1,000 yards rushing – tied for 5th all time. He is the only eligible running back in the top 20 of all-time leading rushers to not be in the Hall of Fame.
Bettis was a 6-time Pro Bowler, 3-time All-Pro and was the Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2001. The fact that he has failed to make the Hall of Fame 4 straight times since he became eligible in 2010 is very hard to overlook.
