4. Kevin Greene, LB
One of the league’s best pass rushers from the day he entered the NFL to the day he left it, Kevin Greene only became better at getting to the QB for a sack as he got older and more experienced. The 5-time Pro Bowler and 3-time All-Pro selection was named to the 1990s All-Decade team and has the third most QB sacks of any player in league history with 160.0 – only Reggie White and Bruce Smith have more. is the oldest player in league history to have led the league in sacks. Beginning at age 30 until he retired at age 37, Greene averaged 12 sacks per year – at an age where most players begin to taper off in pass rush production.
Green has been a finalist every year since 2012, but it should really only be a matter of time before a player with his NFL records and level of production enters the Hall of Fame. Even so, it is baffling that he could not even beat out pass rushers with a very similar resume like Michael Strahan and John Randle.
