3. Derrick Rose – Chicago Bulls
Perhaps the most talked about player to not play at all last season.
Of course he was in limited company but it says something about Derrick Rose’s standing in the NBA and in Chicago that so much speculation surrounded his every move.
After tearing his ACL two seasons ago, Rose sat out all of 2012-13 in a bid to get his knee and body right, and all early indications are that Rose is back to his best and perhaps even better.
The former MVP has said he has increased his vertical leap from 37 inches to 42, which sounds impressive, but does not mean much in the context of a tight game.
It is a sign however that he is confident in his body and with a strong and healthy Rose on the court again, the Bulls will again be pushing for a top two place in the Eastern Conference.
