Was part of the influx of players under Thaksin Shiniwatra at Manchester City, joining from Shakhtar Donetsk, and while he was impressive was eventually forced out due to the world class talent brought in from Sheikh Mansour’s billions. Elano was well known for scoring world class long range goals and will be remembered fondly by Citizens fans.
