2) Hugo Lloris – Tottenham
The Frenchman could’t get in the Spurs side when he first arrived from Lyon, and had to sit on the bench as Brad Friedel held the no. 1 jersey. Ever since he wrestled the spot from the veteran American though, Lloris has rightly established himself as one of the country’s best keepers. Lloris is wonderfully composed with the ball at his feet, and is as good a shot-stopper as anything in Europe. He now even captains the French national side, and will be a key cog in Andre Villas-Boas’ new look Spurs side for years to come.
