5. Fraser Forster
In our minds, at least, he would have been competing with the likes of De Gea and Courtois as the Premier League’s goalkeeper of the season had it not been for his long-term injury which has kept him out for Southampton since April.
Astonishingly Forster has conceded just 21 goals in the 30 games he played this season and is a key reason Saints managed to challenge so much above their station.
