2. Alan Shearer, Blackburn and Newcastle United
Shearer is the all-time leader in goals scored with 260, and his record is not going anywhere in the foreseeable future as the next players, Andy Cole and Wayne Rooney, have respectively scored 187 and 185 goals. While Rooney will easily make it to second on the list, it’s hard to imagine him breaking Shearer’s record as he is already 29 years old.
Shearer’s status as scoring king is not all that he should be remembered for though, as he led Blackburn to a Premier League title in 1995, which many football fans would never have guessed today since they were relegated in 1999, only three years after Shearer left Blackburn. His prime years were at Blackburn, as he reached the 30-goal mark three times in a row while scoring 34 in his championship season.
