Reds fans long for a chance to have their actual table position match their perceived-value position. After losing Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard there isn’t room for a ton of optimism at Anfield, but that hasn’t stopped the club from pursuing the top talents as replacements. Whether the faith in Liverpool pays off or not will be a very different story.
3. Arsenal – Fly Emirates (£30m)
Last summer’s deal with the Real Madrid sponsor gave them an infusion of cash that, while not enough to buy their way to a much-desired Premier League title, helped secure their second straight FA Cup title. And this summer’s blockbuster move for Petr Cech may prove to be the steal of the year if Arsenal can improve that defense.
