3. Bad at causing turnovers – The Raiders ranked 31st in defensive interceptions and 27th in turnover differential. More often than not getting turnovers is the key to winning ballgames, and if the Raiders cannot get any in 2014 it may be impossible for them to gain momentum and win the close games. The team was diligent in adding some proven playmakers with a penchant for forcing turnovers, but most of those pickups are currently passed their prime and are questionable to even start, let alone see the field enough to force turnovers.
2. Tough division – The Raiders were 4th place in their division in 2013. Their division rivals – the Chargers, the Chiefs and the Broncos – all made the playoffs. Each of those teams has a franchise QB, at least one current or former Pro Bowl receiver, a Top 10 offense, and a defense that is nothing to laugh at. The Raiders have their work cut out for them just to make sure they don’t go 0-6 in the division. They only went 1-5 in the division this past season.
