7. Josh Dugan – St George Illawarra Dragons
$700,000 until 2017
To say Josh Dugan is luck to be playing in the NRL at is an understatement.
After a career littered with on-field incidents and bursts of stunning form juxtaposed with frustrating injuries and poor play, Dugan has landed on his feet with the St George Illawarra Dragons.
While the Dragons were one of the worst teams in the NRL in 2013, they have a genuine match-winner in Dugan, who can provide a spark from fullback few other players in the league are capable of.
And while he has kept out of trouble since signing with the Dragons, the fact he is on a rich deal for the next four seasons means he has to be face of the club on and off the field.
