7. Enner Valencia – Pachuca to Newcastle United
One thing Newcastle were guilty of last season was, well…being boring. Alan Pardew’s men were bereft of ideas and adventure as they slid towards an uncomfortable conclusion to their season. However, the Magpies have targeted the fleet-footed Ecuadorian ace, who has been lighting up Mexico’s top flight since January, scoring an outstanding 14 goals in just 23 appearances.
Still a relative newcomer to the international scene, he notched his fifth goal in 11 games during last Sunday’s defeat to Switzerland at the World Cup. Capable of playing on the wing or up front, Alan Pardew will be looking to bring him on board in inject some much needed excitement to St James’ Park.
