3. Manchester City rebounded from the loss to Man U in spectacular fashion
After losing to Manchester United it looked as though the former Premier League champs would never win another game. Credit where credit is due has to go to Manuel Pellegrini for keeping that talented club’s confidence high and leading them to six straight wins to close out the season.
With Manchester City poised to go on a major spending spree this transfer period, they could very easily be back in contention for the Premier League Championship late next year.
2. Liverpool is in trouble next season, regardless of who replaces Steven Gerrard
Once considered a strength on the team, Liverpool’s defense in the last few weeks has been absolutely atrocious against teams that were no their equal in terms of talent by any stretch of the imagination. And yet Liverpool found itself outscored 9-2 in just two weeks to close out the storied career of Steven Gerrard.
When the goalie can’t make saves, the defenders can’t defend and the team’s legend is poised to retire, you have the recipe for a disaster in Liverpool unless management can make an epic splash in the transfer period these next few months.
