4) Jake Livermore
Livermore played one or two good games at the start of last season, and was somehow awarded an England cap for his troubles. At 23-years-old, he’s already seen as surplus to requirements at White Harte Lane, and is spending the year on loan at Hull City.
5) Jay Bothroyd
The journeyman forward won his only England cap during a stint at Championship club Cardiff City. To think not too long ago, the likes of Robbie Fowler, Ian Wright, Andy Cole and Kevin Phillips couldn’t get near an England line-up with Alan Shearer, Teddy Sheringham and Michael Owen in their way – Bothroyd’s cap seems all the more undeserving.
6) David Nugent
Nugent is, and always has been, a fairly prolific Championship striker. He never has, and never will be – a striker capable of leading the line for England. He did his best to prove this theory wrong however, scoring a goal on his only England appearance in 2007.
