7. William Prunier
Prunier was a mate of Eric Cantona’s but sadly lacking in the mercurial Frenchman’s talent. The centre-half arrived at United in 2006 and made just two appearances, including an embarrassing 4-1 loss to Spurs (who didn’t have Bale then). The centre-back was promptly shipped off to Denmark and never seen again on these shores.
