5. Diego Forlan
The Uruguayan actually developed into a fairly classly international striker post-United but his three seasons at Old Trafford were notable only for their averageness. Forlan got off to the worst possible start by declaring he had joined the Red Devils because they offered the best wages, and it was downhill from there after some Torres-esq finishing left him with just 17 league goals in nearly 70 appearances.
