1) Julian Draxler (Germany)
Germany are not short of talent in the attacking midfield positions, with the emergence of Schalke’s Julian Draxler only adding to a seemingly endless pool of options for Joachim Low. The injury sustained by Marco Reus in a warm-up game against Armenia has opened up a place in the team, and Draxler will be one of those hoping to seize his chance. Fast, direct and with a fantastic right foot, Draxler’s form in the Bundesliga almost persuaded Arsene Wenger to open his wallet in January – a good World Cup from the twenty year-old could make him regret his indecisiveness.
