8) Wesley Sneijder
Perhaps what best some up Sneijder and how his reputation has dictated his career is his club record. European powerhouse Real Madrid, to dwindling Serie A giant Inter Milan, to European wilderness with Galatasaray.
Sneijder always gets the big build up but when you actually watch him you just get frustrated at how selfish and arrogant he is on the field.
7) Ezequiel Lavezzi
Rather than getting out of difficult situations on the pitch, Lavezzi seemingly seeks them out to try and prove he can escape again. Almost always he fails to do so.
He looks busy and runs around a lot but actually asses his performance after a game and you’ll see he does little but give the ball away in attacking areas because he tried something a little too fancy.
6) David Luiz
Found wanting defensively on so many occasions – *cough* Germany 7-0 Brazil, *cough* PSG v Barcelona – quite why the Ligue 1 champions spent almost £50m on him in the summer is beyond comprehension.
5) Faustino Asprilla
Often moped around the pitch looking like he’d be anywhere other than his current surroundings.
When he turned it on – as he did against Barcelona in the Champions League for Newcastle – he was a force of nature but generally he was a gentle breeze rather than a hurricane.
