3. Kevin Sumlin (HC, Texas A&M) – One of college football’s up-and-coming stars in the coaching ranks, Sumlin has developed not one, but two star QBs for the Aggies – Heisman trophy winner Johnny Manziel in 2012-2013 and now Kenny Hill for a Texas A&M team that is ranked #6 in the NCAA. While it is unknown if Sumlin has the temperament for an NFL job, recent success by offensive minded college coaches like Pete Carroll, Jim Harbaugh and Chip Kelly indicate that if he can just develop a QB in Oakland, he could be extremely successful at the start.
2. Darrell Bevell (OC, Seattle Seahawks) – The ultimate prize of the 2015 coaching carousel: A QB guru who has developed Russell Wilson into one of the league’s best and taken the running game to unprecedented heights en route to a Superbowl XLVIII win over the Denver Broncos. Bevell will be in high demand and the Raiders would need to give him a lot of power to make such a moribund job seem appealing, but the Raiders and owner Mark Davis have shown a willingness to overpay in the past and a coach like Bevell could change the fortunes of the franchise.
