2. 1979: Carlton 11.16 (82) d. Collingwood 11.11 (77) – Wayne Harmes. Was it in? Was it out?
Carlton’s Wayne Harmes chases down his own ball into the Blues’ forward pocket and punches the ball back into the goalsquare for the waiting Ken Sheldon.
Sheldon then kicks a goal to give Carlton a ten-point buffer against their most hated rivals, but debate rages on as to whether the ball was in or out when Harmes initially punched the ball across.
Collingwood fans will say it did, but Blues fans will never care.
