2. Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
Games played: 17 (2)
Goals: 18
Assists: 5
Goals + assists: 23
It now appears amazing that Daniel Sturridge was discarded by Chelsea in January 2013, allowed to move to Liverpool for a reported fee of just £12 million.
Having scored 18 goals and provided five assists in just 19 Premier League appearances this term, Sturridge is certainly worth a great deal more than that now, and it is his consistency which has impressed the most.
The England international has scored in all but three of the Premier League games he has played this season, and remains on course to beat former Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in consecutive top flight games, with the Dutchman having notched in a remarkable ten matches in a row.
Sturridge’s pace, movement, and clinical finishing make him a far better player than the predictable right sided forward who plied his trade at Stamford Bridge.
He is now one of the most in form attackers in all of Europe.
