DE Michael Sam was arguably the most talked about draft pick besides QB Johnny Manziel. Now he’s a free agent and there are plenty of teams that could use have a use for him in one form or another.
Michael Sam is more than just the NFL’s first openly gay player, he is a talented pass rusher who led the SEC with 11.5 sacks and 19 tackles for a loss en route to being named SEC’s co-Defensive Player of the Year. He was drafted late in the draft (7th round) due in large part to his size and poor Combine performances. But he proved in the preseason that he is as effective a pass rusher with the backup units as anyone else in the league.
With that said, the Rams cut him as part of the final 53-man roster cuts, leaving Sam to find a new team in 2014. Here are the best teams available for Sam to continue his NFL dream:
