Robert Griffin III, Washington – With continued poor play from his 2013 season leaking into the 2014 preseason, some pundits are suggesting that the team would be better off right now with backup QB Kirk Cousins in a legitimate competition for the job. However, Washington has invested too much into RGIII to do anything other than start him as much as they can and therein lies the problem. Head coach Jay Gruden is a QB guru but has never worked with a QB with his particular skillset. His greatest success came in Cincinnati with a pocket passer like Andy Dalton – a QB much more comparable to Kirk Cousins. With a very vulnerable NFC East in 2014, RGIII is playing poorly at a time when they have a valuable opportunity to take the division out from under everyone else.
