No harm in waiting to develop – In the last few years there have been some major success stories around QBs that have ridden the bench for a year or several before being given a chance to start: Aaron Rodgers, Colin Kaepernick, and even fellow Browns QB Brian Hoyer. Very seldom does making a QB sit and observe for a year or more so greatly inhibit their growth that it means they will be worse than they were when the were drafted. If sitting Manziel does far more good for his long-term development, the Browns would benefit from sitting him early.
