1. Problems with oversea travel 8 times a year
Any team that plays in London for a 16-game season would be required to travel to the U.S. for 8 games per year under the current system. Considering how little time teams have to prepare before each individual game, would tripling or quadrupling the travel time between really be fair for any team? How would any team be able to properly prepare after a 12 to 16 hour flight? Between the jet lag and going through customs every single time – because unlike some teams, it is impossible to take a bus to the opposing team’s stadium – how could the team be expected to have the same level of preparation when it travels to the U.S.? And vice-versa for their opponents – it might work once per year for two teams, but after 8 times someone is bound to notice how impossible it is to properly prepare for a game with such a limited amount of time.
