3. RB Ezekiel Elliot
In the last three games Ezekiel Elliot has gained the national spotlight as perhaps the best RB in college football heading into the 2015 season. In three straight games – all championship games – he has averaged just under 220 yards per game.
In the second half of the game, when Cardale Jones started struggling to hold onto the ball, the gameplan shifted to “give the ball to Ezekiel Elliot and DARE the Ducks to try and stop him.” The Ducks failed. The Ducks failed so badly that rarely if at all was Elliot even dropped behind the line of scrimmage for a loss. He was he was Archie Griffin, he was Eddie George, he was Beanie Wells all wrapped into one unstoppable force that none of the Oregon defenders could take down.
He finished the game with 36 carries, 246 yards and 4 TDs, and was named the MVP of the game – he sure as hell looked the part too. If Elliot is a lock to be a Heisman trophy candidate in 2015.
