5. Alex Tudor – 99 not-out (England v New Zealand, 1999)
Tudor came in as nightwatchman after the dismissal of Alec Stewart, but ended up batting out the rest of the innings and securing a seven wicket win for England.
The tall bowler stayed at the crease longer than established batsmen Mark Butcher and Nasser Hussain and his 99 not-out is still the largest score ever made by an English nightwatchman.
