4. Mike Glennon, Buccaneers
Originally drafted to be Josh Freeman’s backup, Glennon took over the starting job as a rookie after HC Greg Schiano benched Freeman. Glennon went 4-9 as a starter and led all rookie QBs in TDs in 2013. After Schiano was fired following a 4-12 season, new HC Lovie Smith signed former Bears backup Josh McCown and immediately made him the starter.
But at age 35 and with only one season with more than 9 starts under his belt (to go along with only 12 games of 250 yards or more out of 38 starts), McCown can not be guaranteed to play the entire season for the Bucs, who are hoping to make a serious playoff run in the NFC South. If McCown is not the starter Lovie Smith wants him to be, then Glennon will take the reins again and will have to prove that his effective play can lead the Buccaneers to wins in a very competitive division.
