2. Brandon Weeden, Cowboys
As a 29-year-old rookie with the Browns in 2012, Brandon Weeden set numerous rookie passing records but was unable to get enough wins for the team. By the end of his second year with the team, the Browns had fired two head coaches and their entire front office and cut Weeden because of his lack of production. He signed with Dallas where he will be Tony Romo’s backup heading into a playoff-or-bust year.
The Cowboys needed a good backup more than anything in 2013 when Romo was injured the week before, forcing the team to start backup Kyle Orton – who was only one INT away from a possible Division Title win. HC Jason Garrett needs insurance in case something happens to Romo again so the season does not collapse – his job depends on it. As a starter for a shoddy Browns team Weeden struggled, but with receivers like Jason Witten and Dez Bryant, he may be able to prove that he can be a good QB after all.
