However, the ending to his career with the Reds certainly did not go to plan.
Gerrard suffered through a thoroughly disappointing final season with his boyhood club, and it was only made worse at Liverpool were thrashed 6-1 by Stoke City in the former England international’s last ever game for the Reds.
