Laurent Blanc has had a fine season with Paris Saint-Germain, claiming the Coupe de France and appearing certain to retain the Ligue 1 title.
However, the way that PSG limply exited the UEFA Champions League at Stamford Bridge under Blanc indicated the weaknesses in the former Manchester United centre back’s management style.
Like Moyes, Blanc has regularly been accused of being reactive rather than proactive, and a more evolutionary coach could well be needed at Old Trafford.
