1. NFC West – Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams
Defending Superbowl Champions, both NFC Championship contenders, the best cumulative winning percentage in the NFL, and the NFL’s best defenses – these are only some of what makes the NFC West the most compelling division to look at in 2014.
The Seahawks-49ers rivalry is at a boiling point after the heated exchange between All-Pro CB Richard Sherman and WR Michael Crabtree during and after the NFC Championship game. The Arizona Cardinals went 10-6 but missed the playoffs because the 49ers and Seahawks won so many games outside of the division (10-6 would have resulted in a wildcard spot or 2 division titles in the NFC), and the Rams, though they have not had a winning season in 10 years, have one of the best front-sevens in football and can compete with almost any team in football even without the effective play of QB Sam Bradford.
Do not be surprised if 3 teams make the playoffs that are from the NFC West in 2014. It is the most talented division and when they are not fighting neck and neck with each other, they are dominating every other team in the NFL.
