4. 1997 – Adelaide Crows 19.11 (125) d. St Kilda Saints 13.16 (94)
It was the Adelaide Crows’ first ever premiership, and what a game it was.
Adelaide’s Darren Jarman booted five goals in the final quarter to seal it for the Crows, while midfielder Andrew McLeod won the first of his consecutive Norm Smith Medals with a big game performance that he became so well-known for.
For the Saints it was yet another failure, and to this day their long-suffering fans are still waiting for that elusive second premiership.
