The Turk was a prolific goalscoring threat in an exciting team that only fleetingly graced major international tournaments whilst he was playing. Once considered as one of the best strikers in the world, it’s strange to think that he never earned a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs until he was 29 when he joined Inter Milan. It didn’t work out for him there, but he continued for fun for the national side, bagging 19 in attempting to make the European finals.
