Defence dominates remaining free-agents as teams can strike cheap bargains.
After a week of free agency chaos, the dust seems to have settled on the frenzy. All players still unsigned to a new team now have the chance to evaluate all their options and visit teams before committing to a club for next season.
Here are our top five who are still free agents, and will contribute to whoever they play for in 2013.
5. Brent Grimes, former team: Atlanta Falcons
Before rupturing his Achilles tendon just one game into the 2012 season, Grimes was considered one of the top five cornerbacks in the league, and was looking set to sign a big money deal with Atlanta this off-season. This sadly hasn’t happened, and the Falcons have allowed him to leave, as they either believe they have adequate players already who can perform as well as Grimes, or can draft a player next month.
If Grimes can regain his form off this injury, whoever takes him will have a stud player for low money. The Clevland Browns are rumoured to be the front runners, and if he partners Joe Haden, it could be the best tandem in the NFL.
