3. Anthony Vanden Borre
Versatile Belgian Vanden Borre, broke into the Anderlecht first-team at the same time as Vincent Kompany and was considered the bigger talent of the two. While Kompany has gone on to captain Manchester City to a maiden Premier League title, Vanden Borre has drifted into obscurity.
Sold by the Belgian club to Fiorentina for nearly £4million in 2007, the defender never reached the dizzy heights he frequently scaled for Football Manager addicts across the globe.
He is probably most famous in this country for being the man Chris Kamara didn’t realise had been sent off for Portsmouth.
Vanden Borre was released by Genk last summer.
