2. Cherno Samba
Another Football Manager legend, Gambian-born Samba had every Premier League club chasing his signature at one stage. Aged 16, he went on a week’s trial to Liverpool from Millwall and then Reds boss Gerard Houllier was reportedly desperate to snap up the powerful young forward. Millwall held out for more money, reportedly turning down a £2m bid.
Samba played at every youth level for England, but the player now admits his ego got too big and Millwall released him in 2004. Following stints in Spain, Finland and Greece, the 26-year-old Samba signed for Norwegian side FK Tonsburg last year.
