Tom Huddlestone (Hull City)
Tom Huddlestone has had a major impact for Hull City Tigers so far this season, spraying long balls into the channels from his deep midfield position and dictating play effectively.
Unsurprisingly, the former Spurs man makes the most passes per game of anyone in Steve Bruce’s side, and the 13th most of any player from a team in the bottom half of the table.
No Hull player has made more tackles this term than Huddlestone’s 2.8 per match, and only two players have made more interceptions.
While fellow promoted side Crystal Palace elected against signing defensive players upon returning to the top flight, Steve Bruce looked to solidify the team, bringing the likes of Maynor Figueroa, Curtis Davies, Jake Livermore and Huddlestone in – and their 28 goals conceded in 22 matches is a respectable total.
