Shock! Anderson Silva, Nick Diaz fail UFC 183 drug tests
A Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) report confirmed Lombard failed his fight night drug test with a positive result for desoxymethyltestosterone – a banned anabolic steroid.
Desoxymethyltestosterone helps build muscle and strength with minimal weight gain.
The Cuban-born fighter was due to face Rory MacDonald in the UFC 186 event in Montreal in April, but the fight was scratched from the card without a reason given by the UFC.
After an initial story by MMAFighting.com, NSAC confirmed Lombard’s positive test result.
Lombard is the latest fighter to test positive for an illegal substance in recent times after Brazilian champion Anderson Silva also tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs following his fight at UFC 183 on January 31.
Silva’s opponent Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites following a post-fight test.
