Spurs, like Everton, don’t really have much business being on this list, though there was cause for optimism at the beginning of the campaign as Gareth Bale’s exit to Real Madrid prompted the club to engage in some heavy spending to try and counteract his absence. It didn’t work, and there is probably a very good chance that they are not earning as much this time around.
