1. Anders Frisk
When Chelsea played FC Barcelona at Camp Nou in 2005, referee Anders Frisk sent Blues striker Didier Drogba off for a challenge on Barca goalkeeper Victor Valdes after half time.
The home side went on to defeat Chelsea 2-1 in the first leg of their clash, with Mourinho making the rather spurious claim that then Barcelona manager Frank Rijkaard went into the referee’s room with Frisk at the half time break – which is against UEFA rules.
The Blues boss was unable to produce proof of his allegations, with other witnesses declaring Frisk dismissed Rijkaard’s pleas for a conversation.
Mourinho subsequently received a two game ban, but the damage to Frisk’s career was far more severe.
The Swedish referee retired from the game a fortnight later after receiving death threats from Chelsea fans made to both himself and his family.
UEFA referee’s chief Volker Roth called Mourinho an “enemy of football,” though his organisation naturally could not endorse such claims.
