9. Andre Villas-Boas
Jose Mourinho and Andre Villas-Boas used to be inseparable – a sort of Batman and Robin of the football world.
With Mourinho as manager and AVB acting as opposition analyst and assistant, the pair worked successfully together at Porto, Chelsea, and Inter Milan.
As any superhero fan knows though, Batman works best alone, though when his partner left him to fight crime manage a football club of his own, he cut him off entirely.
“I don’t lose any sleep,” said Robin AVB earlier this season, after revealing he doesn’t even have Mourinho’s number anymore.
“We had a great personal and professional relationship before. We don’t have that now.”
Mourinho knows what he’s doing. He’s the hero Chelsea deserves in this torturous analogy.
