7. Kevin De Bruyne
By all accounts, Kevin De Bruyne was brilliant for Chelsea in pre-season. He was also great against Hull in the Blues’ opening Premier League match of the season.
He was average in the club’s second fixture against Manchester United, was hauled off after an hour by Mourinho, and hasn’t started a match outside of the Capital One Cup since.
De Bruyne wasn’t the only Chelsea player to have a mediocre performance against Man Utd. The Belgian is however the only one who appears to have been singled out to quite such an extent, even training with the reserves for a period.
Chelsea have plenty of options in attacking midfield, and perhaps De Bruyne isn’t the best of the Blues’ playmakers.
Unless he’s done broken club rules though, he probably deserves to train with the first team.
