3. Roman Abramovich
As much as Jose Mourinho is the public voice of Chelsea, club owner Roman Abramovich is the man pulling the strings.
If a manager doesn’t match the Russian oligarch’s standards of victories and style of football, he will be shown the door.
Mourinho at least had the luxury of agreeing a mutual consent front with Abramovich for the world’s media, and later claimed that he had resigned in an interview with Sport magazine.
“I think you forget that I left Chelsea and not the other way around,” boldly stated Mourinho in 2010, with the Portuguese boss appearing unable to let his Blues exit go.
“Of course, we didn’t agree on anything, but I still have respect for him (Abramovich),” added Mourinho.
“He is a clever businessman and has done really well.
“But I think he has made some grave mistakes in his time at Chelsea and especially after I left.
