5. Jacksonville Jaguars, NFL – $770 million by Shahid Khan in 2012
A long-time friend of former Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver, the self-made billionaire Shahid Khan bought the team from Weaver in 2011 after failing to win the bid for the St. Louis Rams the year before.
Unfortunately, Khan purchased the Jaguars at the worst possible with the team having no direction and one of the most talent-barren rosters in the NFL. In the four seasons since Khan took over the team, the Jaguars have gone just 14-50 while averaging just 15.5 points per game. The past four seasons have seen the Jaguars set new franchise lows for points scored every single year and have had a point differential of -160 or worse in each of the last three.
