7. Greg Cook (QB, Cincinnati Bengals)
An emerging star with the Cincinnati Bengals in 1969, Greg Cook was the AFL Rookie of the Year. But an injury the following season to his throwing shoulder ended his playing career before it could truly begin – at just 24 years old. Legendary coach Bill Walsh, an assistant with the Bengals back in the late-60s, early 70s, said Cook may have been a better pure QB than Hall of Famer Joe Montana.
