6. Ricky Williams (RB, New Orleans Saints/Miami Dolphins/Baltimore Ravens)
Arguably the greatest RB in college football history, Ricky Williams led the NFL in rushing yards in 2002 but was held back by his marijuana use stemming from a variety of emotional and mental problems. He retired from the Dolphins twice – first at age 27 and later at age 29 – but unretired multiple times and helped the Dolphins reach the playoffs in 2008.
