Hull City Tigers adapt well to top flight
Many pundits predicted Hull City to struggle alongside Crystal Palace this season, but the first key difference has been in the clubs’ respective transfer business.
Crystal Palace only brought in a single defender on a free transfer, but Hull City strengthened with the signing of Maynor Figueroa, and solidity in defensive midfield with Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore bought from Tottenham Hotspur.
Steve Bruce – a former centre half himself, of course – has organised a solid back line, and only five teams have conceded less goals than Hull this season, and only four sides have kept more clean sheets.
The issue for Hull is that they have only scored seven goals in nine matches, but their impressive defence means they are well deserving of their ninth position.
