9. Gaizka Mendieta (SS Lazio to Middlesbrough FC)
Gaizka Mendieta’s career path is ridiculous.
Valencia > Lazio > FC Barcelona (loan) > Middlesbrough
Once the sixth most expensive player in history and a UEFA Champions League finalist, Mendieta ended up settling in Yarm.
No offence to Middlesbrough, but it’s not quite as prestigious a club as Mendieta’s others.
Also no offence to the population of Yarm.
