Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all had disasters in the transfer market. Here are the worst deals in Premier League history.
10. Juan Sebastian Veron (SS Lazio to Manchester United)
Juan Sebastian Veron was a brilliant player for Lazio prior to his £28.1 million move to Old Trafford in 2001, but his Manchester United career was massively underwhelming and all too brief.
Veron found it tough to adapt to the fast pace of the Premier League, and although he had some strong performances in the UEFA Champions League, it was not enough to justify the huge amount spent on him.
The Argentina international playmaker was sold to Chelsea for £15 million in 2003 – just over half of what Manchester United initially paid.
